The new 'normal'

Ok, OK.....she has finally stopped crying!  If you read my last post, Melia was in the hospital crying and crying after her palate surgery.  Boy, have we come a long way in 2 weeks!  We are getting over the owie's and the pain and are starting on the upswing of feeding and drinking with a new palate.  This little girl is one brave soul.  Can you imagine having the entire roof of your mouth being sown together and then having to get used to eating and drinking all over again?  I can't imagine what is even going on in her head.  She has had to transition so many times from everything she knew as 'normal'.  She continues to go to feeding therapy to work on tolerating new food textures and shapes.

 Before surgery on her palate....

After surgery resting in Daddy's arms.
In this picture she still has not come out of the anesthetic.

The next day she is a bit more chipper!

Heading home, but she does not look too happy?!

Two weeks AFTER surgery!

We have had a FULL fall season.  K man got to play flag football with the YMCA every Saturday for 2 months.  He is still learning, but will be dangerous as the years go on.

In this picture he is about to receive the ball.  What you don't see is how "the tank" pushed the ball right up the middle into the defense.  His flag was pulled, but not without moving a bunch of kids in the process!  Way to go K!!

Here he is trying his hand at the snap.  Great form!  :0)

 May I present....
Alvin and the Chipmunks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta have fun with Halloween.  And by the way, I didn't make them dress up like a bunch of 'munks.  This was of their own decision.  I think it was a brilliant idea, not without fights on who was going to be Alvin though.  B won out, he was the right size!!

This is not a good picture, but here is Melia on Halloween.
Can you see her shirt, it says that she is "wickedly cute".

This is B and Adam's new project...a go cart!  They have been working on this project on Tuesday night's-"project night".  B has done a lot of the work including putting on a new head gasket and new spark plugs.

Even Melia is getting into the fun!

We have had such great weather into November, so we went to the zoo!
What a beautiful day to see some animals.
