WOWIE! They were not kidding when they said it was a long flight. After 14 hours in the air and a 40 min. ride from the airport, we are here at our hotel. We slept about 6 hours on the plane, but still feel a little tired. We hope to stay up until 10 or 11 pm so we sleep well tonight. We met a few of the couples in our travel group and they seem real nice. We went out for supper tonight at the local Chinese place down the street. Sort of funny, we knew no Chinese and they knew no English. We pointed to the menu a lot and said xie xie (thank you). We enjoyed our meal, the food was great and we chalked the whole experience up to a learning lesson. Sort of felt like we were on the Amazing Race!!
We were able to skype the boys tonight. It was nice to see them and hear their voice. It will be even better after 2 weeks being here.
Tomorrow we will be walking the Great Wall and visiting the Cloisonne Factory. Josiah, I will be sure to take some pictures just for you!!!

ReplyDeleteYEAH!!!!! So glad you're there! Enjoy the great wall. I'll be sure to clarify to Josiah that you're at the real great wall and not the Oskosh dump :). Josiah just said, "OH THERE REALLY THERE!!! CAN WE GO SWIMMING WITH MELIA TODAY?" all CAPS becuase he said it really loud :) Praying for you guys!

ReplyDeleteEnjoy, it should be a photographic experience on the great wall. Glad you got to meet other people. Don't forget to take a card with your hotel name on it whereever you go....so you can show the taxi where to take you home to,
